Thailand National AI Strategy and Action Plan

The Thailand National AI Strategy and Action Plan (2022-2027) aims to establish a robust ecosystem for AI development and application to enhance the economy and quality of life. The strategy outlines five key priorities: increasing human capacity and improving AI education, developing sustainable national infrastructure, driving AI technology and innovation, promoting AI use in public and private sectors, and preparing for social, ethical, and regulatory readiness for AI applications. The plan targets the creation of over 30,000 AI talents, the development of at least 100 R&D prototypes, and the engagement of 600 agencies in AI innovation by 2027. It emphasizes sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, and public services, with a goal to improve Thailand's AI readiness index to rank among the top 50 globally. The strategy also addresses challenges like the lack of AI expertise and infrastructure, aiming for comprehensive governance and collaboration across sectors to foster AI adoption and innovation.
